Another phone call closer to our T and L trip

Much has happened since we really began getting serious about this trip. I for one, have lost my daughter, tragically and unfairly. Now, I am needing this trip not only as a reconnection with friends, but as a way to try and put things in perspective.

We are all looking forward to the trip. Since I have been to none of the places we are going to, it's very exciting to think about all we'll encounter.

We will have a taste of quite a few states within a week and be immersed in life in a totally different part of the country.

I am so looking forward to this week for many reasons, mainly because I get to share it with my friends.

  1. I've been wanting to post to this blog for a while, but out of respect for MaryAnn, I thought that only she had the right to publicly share her loss.

When we started out on this journey, no doubt we all had our life's hardships and annoyances; for example, some of us had to struggle with arrogant professors in our grad school classes, incompetent Deans in our place of employment, perhaps others had financial concerns, etc. Nothing, absolutely nothing, compares to the magnitude of MaryAnn's loss. Nothing.

Like MaryAnn, I am looking forward to seeing parts of the US that I've never seen other than an occasional flight connection. That doesn't count. I'm looking forward to getting to know MaryAnn, Debbie, Cheryl and Nancy better. I'm looking forward to some laughs, R&R...and perspective.

Here's to the Thelma & Louise trip! 10 days and counting. Note...we've been planning this for about 2 years now. I cannot believe it's almost here.

  2. Thank you Patty. We have less than a week to go before we begin our T and L journey!
